Whoa! Under the sign of the cross (shown in the left panel of page 54 and the top one of page 55), this Mexican comic is telling women that their place is in the home. Dad gets a pass: no matter that his children were left on their own when their grandmother contracted pneumonia. The publishers are clearly stating that all the blame lies with Antonia, who, it’s suggested, could have benefited from a sound beating.
